On Tuesday, Health Minister Chris Fearne announced that Malta’s sexual health policy will be receiving an overdue revision.
Fearne explained that the public health department is currently undertaking a new study to reflect the modern-day realities of sexual practices. This data is expected to be made available in early 2022.
‘I was given a draft of the policy but it was based on studies from 12 years ago. Public health has now been tasked to carry out a new study to understand the sexual practices of people today,’ he added.
This policy has been expected for several years and was even meant to be published in early 2021.
Malta’s current sexual health policy was published in 2010.
