Malta’s largest charity fun run will be held on Sunday with thousands of people expected to take part.
The fun run celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, with President George Vella heading the event.
It starts at 10am from four different locations – Rabat, Santa Venera, Paola and the University of Malta – and finishes in Valletta.
Organisers said a number of streets in Rabat, Paola, Msida and Santa Venera will be closed on Sunday morning for safety reasons.
The following roads will be closed on Sunday morning during the President’s Fun Run.:
1. Rabat route to Blata l-Bajda
Mdina bus terminus, Saqqajja Hill, Mdina Road, Notary Zarb Street, St Joseph High Street, Mountbatten Street, Gasan Street.
2. Paola route to Blata l-Bajda
Paola Square, Valletta Road, Paola Hill, DePaule Avenue, Chester Street, Prince Albert Street, Marsa Crossroads, December 13 Street and Zerafa Street
3. University route to Blata l-Bajda
Mgr Carmelo Zammit Street, Regional Road, Msida Circus, Marina Street, Independence Avenue
4. Santa Venera route to Blata l-Bajda
The race will affect St Joseph High Street in Hamrun towards Blata l-Bajda.
The four routes will meet on National Road and continue along St Anne Street and King Edward VII Avenue in Floriana.
Runners will then cross Triton Square and head down Republic Street in Valletta to the finish line in St George’s Square.
