We need to go back to the road of normality before the damage that is being caused to Malta becomes irreparable, President George Vella said this evening.
In a brief address to the nation broadcast on national television, Vella once again appealed for calm and respect, saying that the institutions should be allowed to work for justice to be carried out.
He said that he is doing everything in his constitutional powers in a situation which he described as being “serious”, saying that everyone should take responsibility for one’s actions.
He said that the seriousness of the situation was highlighted in a meeting he had with the social partners who are members of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.
This is a developing story
