The players who were bought this summer will surely make
the Serie A more interesting and give Juventus a hard time in order not to win
another Scudetto and end their dominance in Italy. Several clubs’ objective is
to get a place in the European competitions next year and for those who are
considered to have a hard time this season surely do not want to be relegated
to the lower leagues. With only two games played, the intensity of the games has
surely improved and we have already witnessed one of the games of the season where
Juventus have beaten Napoli 4-3 in a thrilling game at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus:

     ‘The Old Lady’
have had a busy summer as several players were purchased, including the
promising youngster Matthijs De Ligt who is already one of the best defenders around
despite his young age. Danilo Luiz was swapped with Joao Cancelo for a sum of
€37 million. The former Manchester City man has already played a crucial part
in Sarri’s squad as he has scored within 29 seconds of his debut. The Brazilian
full-back signed for 5 years with the Italian champions. One of the youngsters that
was purchased recently is Christian Romero who signed from Genoa for a reported
sum of €26 million.

Inter:

     To date, the ‘Nerazzurri’
are at the top of the league table, with the same points as Juve but with
better goal difference. Following the departure of Mauro Icardi and Ivan
Perisic (both on loan), the club was looking to find replacements. Alexis Sanchez
and Romelu Lukaku joined Conte’s squad from Manchester United. Both clubs came
to an agreement that the Chilean will be loaned for this year and as of the Belgian,
Inter had to pay €65 million for the forward. Stefano Sensi also joined on a
year loan from Sassuolo.

Atalanta:

    The club is undoubtedly
improving, year after year, and they have found themselves in this year’s
Champions League. Martin Skrtel was added to the squad for free from Fenerbahce
and has signed a one year contract with the ‘Nerazzurri’. The Danish defender
Simon Kjaer will be playing in Italy for this year as Seville has loaned him
out.

AC
Milan:

     The ‘Rossoneri’
have been purchasing a lot of youngsters which makes them the youngest team in
the Serie A.  Rafael Leao was purchased
for €25 million from LOSC Lille. The Portuguese youngster signed a long term
contract for 5 years with Gennaro Gattuso’s squad. Ante Rebic is an important
signing as he is a clinical forward and will surely be a one to watch player
this season. The former Empoli midfielder is also another important signing,
like the others, he will be an asset in the near future and this year will gain
experience for sure. Ismaila Bennacer was purchased for €16 million and has
signed a contract until 2024. Another youngster that has signed for 5 years is
Leo’ Duarte who has signed for a reported fee of €11 million from Flamengo.

Napoli:

     Napoli will be
looking to win this year’s Scudetto as they have finished 2nd after
Juve in the previous season. A player who will make the difference is Hirving
Lozano who has signed for €40 million from PSV. The Mexican has already shown
his quality in the Serie A as he changed the game against the Juventus in the second
game of the season. The ‘Bianconeri’ still managed to come out on top as
Koulibaly scored an own goal in the dying moments of the game. Lozano has
scored on his debut and had a positive performance.

Roma:

    The ‘Giallorossi’
will surely be looking to get in the Champions League spot this season as they
have purchased several players that could be an asset this season. Chris
Smalling joined the club on loan from Manchester United for a year long. The
former Arsenal player was also added to the squad for a year loan. The Armenian
who recently joined the team from the capital is looking for more playing time.

Bologna:

    The ‘Rossoblu’
started the season extremely well and they have found themselves in the Europa
League qualifier spot although it is still a long way to go. They have
purchased a promising youngster from Japan, Takehiro Tomiyasu. The defender was
purchased for a sum of €9 million from Sint-Trudent. He has signed for 5 years
with Mihajlovic’s squad. A signing that will surely provide experience to the
team is Gary Medel who signed for €2 million from Besiktas.

Fiorentina:

    Following the
departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben from Bayern, the Frenchman has
joined the ‘Viola’ while Robben has officially retired from football. Ribery is
looking for a new experience in Italy in his last few years in football as he
is now 36 years of age. A sum of €11 million was paid to Fluminense for Pedro
who has signed for 5 years. Another player that will provide experience like
Ribery is Kevin-Prince Boateng who signed for 2 years.

    Several teams
have invested in youth players this summer, most of these youngsters will surely
be an asset within a few years’ time as most of them are promising. Milan in
particular, have invested in their youths this season and they bought quality
young players that will surely help the team within a few years. There are some
who can be useful this season as well. The transfer window is now closed and by
the transfers made and how the teams have started the season, it looks like we
are in for a treat. Several teams can have a go at the title but Juventus will
no doubt be a force this season as they are full of confidence and they have a
team that could easily go far this season even in The Champions League. This
will surely be an exciting season as several teams have bought players that can
provide that extra something.
