One of the most Instagrammable events of the summer is happening in Malta this weekend.

The Summer Carnival takes place from Friday until Sunday and preparations are already well underway.

Organised by Festivals Malta, the carnival will be held in St Paul’s Bay, Birzebbuga and Marsascala.

You can expect to see spectacular parades, fantastic floats  and lots of music and dancing.

St Paul’s Bay

On Friday 23 August, the street parade starts at 7.30pm by the Menqa harbour in St Paul;s Bay and ends in Qawra.

On Saturday, the parade will start in Qawra, heading along the promenade and ending at Bugibba Square.

Birzebbuga

On Saturday, the street parade will be held Birzebbuga from 7.30pm, starting at the bus terminus and ending at Pretty Bay.

Marsaskala

On Sunday, Malta’s Summer Carnival arrives in Marsascala.

The parade will start at 7.30pm from Zonqor to Marsascala.

There will be road closures and changes to some bus routes but it’s only for a couple of nights, so let’s not moan about it.
