Following her record-making debut as the first Maltese player at Rolland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open, Francesca Curmi will be competing in the Australian Open, the fourth of the world’s top tennis tournaments.

She qualified for the Grand Slam championships thanks to her position in the latest world rankings.

In 2018, Francesca beat eight of the top-50 world junior players, and is now regarded as one of the world’s top juniors.

The International Tennis Federation said it considers her to have great potential, thanks not only to her talent and professional team but also because of her capacity for hard work.

Francesca trains six hours a day, six days a week.

Following the Australian Open, later this year Francesca will be taking part in high-ranking tennis tournaments in Italy, France, the UK and the USA.

Francesca’s coaches are Matthew Asciak, Francesco Palpacelli and Marco Salerno.
