VALLETTA VIDEOSLOTS 3
SLIEMA FRANK SALT 15
(0-2), (1-3), (2-6), (0-4)
After suffering their first defeat of the campaign last Tuesday against champions San Ġiljan, Sliema Frank Salt returned to winning ways defeating easily Valletta Videoslots 15-3. Sliema dominated from start to finish and there wasn’t a thought where the win was going.
Valletta disappointed as they looked a team with no motivation apart from goalkeeper Ryan Sciortino who kept shouting and encouraging his team-mates to keep their heads in the game. But the players of Sliema were focused to pass from one side to the other that gave Valletta no chance.
Jerome Gabarretta and Kai Dowling gave a double advantage to Sliema in the first session, and by the end of the second session, Sergio Afric’s team was 5-1 in front, as Nicholas Bugelli scored a brace alongside the good goal by Jamie Gambin. Marc Lanzon reduced the partial margin to three goals.
Although the game seemed to be heading Sliema’s way, the Blues made sure of the three points with a commanding third session. Four goals in the last part of the session made sure of the win as Valletta’s hopes of keeping a low score faded.
Sliema continued to widen the gap and scored four goals with no reply in the last session to win by a 12-goal margin.
