The teenager who was involved in a hit-and-run accident that shocked Malta yesterday is likely to face attempted murder charges.
The 17-year-old was driving a Mercedes in Luqa when he hit a traffic policeman and kept on going before being caught by members of the Rapid Intervention Unit.
His right arm has been amputated from below the elbow and he also suffered a collapsed lung, broken pelvis and multiple fractures.
The officer also suffered severe road burns after he was dragged for several metres.
