Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi refused to say whether Air Malta will take out further loans from any commercial banks in 2018, citing commercially sensitivity as his reason.

PN MP David Stellini had asked the minister bluntly, through a Parliamentary Question whether it is true that Air Malta plans to go further in debt with a commercial bank. Mizzi said that such information is commercially sensitive for the company’s operations.

The airline’s future was very much in question last legislature, with Air Malta hitting the headlines very frequently, and questions at the time being raised regarding a potential partner. Nowadays however, the airline is portrayed as being far more stable than at the time.
